November is around the corner!

Okay, so I'm starting to feel a little guilty about not keeping you guys up to date with this thing. But the truth is, work is tough and long hours, and then starting a new project. It's hard to get my priorities straight between my website and writing because without my writing there isn't a website, but without a website, i'd struggle to sell anything.

So I am going to make a bigger effort this month, starting with making other writers aware of Nanowrimo! If you haven't heard of this, then let me fill you in.

NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH!

November is the month for writers, a whole 30 days dedicated to writing a novel, it works out at about 2500 words a day. Now, I have done this three times over the last few years and really enjoyed having some order to the chaos that is my life at the moment will help. But more than that, it gives me a chance to get something new to my projects list. You don't have to plan another, is use it as an extended free writing exercise, that produces a novel at the end. I used it last year to get my dissertation novel finished. It was a great motivator, you can connect with your friends as well and track their progress, it might become a little bit competitive, but a bit of friendly rivalry has never hurt anyone.

I would honestly recommend taking part, even if its just to get your working project back on track, or starting a new one. It will help keep structure to your writing day and try an regulate your word count throughout the month. There are loads of helpful tips and hints on their website. Just type in Nanowrimo into google and you'll find them. Sign up and get ready for kick off on the 1st of November!
